The full review
A small museum of the highest possible quality: Frick bought paintings the way he bought coke ovens, and what he assembled before his death in 1919 includes three Vermeers (one of just 34 known), a Bellini St. Francis ranked among the greatest paintings of the Italian Renaissance, and a complete Fragonard cycle. The 2025 renovation added the second floor — formerly the family's private rooms — to public viewing for the first time.
No strollers, no children under 10. The Frick is genuinely quiet, even on weekends.
