The full review
Two million objects, 5,000 years of human creativity, all under one roof. The Met's collection is broader than any single museum visit can cover — Egyptian temples reassembled stone by stone, the only Vermeer paintings on permanent display in the Western Hemisphere, the entire American Wing — so most visitors do well to pick three departments and accept that they won't see the rest.
NY/NJ/CT residents pay what they wish; everyone else pays the full $30. The Met Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park is included on the same ticket if used within three days.
